Blenders eyewear11/9/2023 ![]() ![]() To be more specific, Goodr will be better, but Knockaround is also good. So, if your budget is $25 to $35, then Goodr & Knockaround are good choices. Maybe they’re good, but I didn’t like them, so I can’t recommend them. You can buy Blenders, Goodr or Knockaround, whichever you like, you’ll not be disappointed, but I didn’t like Shady Rays. If we compare Blenders, Goodr & Knockaround with Shady Rays, I’ll say directly, avoid Shady Rays. So, yeah, I had a bad experience with Shady Rays. I was not impressed with them, and the hinge broke after a few weeks. I ordered sunglasses from Shady Rays, and they took so many days to deliver them as compared to Amazon’s super fast shipping, and the sunglasses were also just fine. But, I was not impressed with Shady Rays. The Goodr & Knockaround sunglasses are also great because they come in the budget-friendly category. It’s possible that I like their style, but the quality & durability of Blenders sunglasses are better than the Shady Rays. If we talk about quality, style, & durability, I’ll put Blenders Eyewear in the first position. So, I think I’m eligible to compare these brands and give you an honest review. They're more expensive but at least they last.I have purchased sunglasses from Goodr, Knockaround, Shady Rays, Blenders Eyewear, and a few other brands. I'm not sure if these quality issues are due to supply chain problems or simply lowering product quality due to inflation, but I'm considering moving back to Oakley. Regardless, shouldn't "sun" glasses be able to withstand the sun itself? Along with that, the super fragile and thin frame of my Nocturnal Q X2's just broke after simply removing them from my face. I was told this is because of heat, though I live in northern Illinois and keep my glasses indoors when not used. Now a recent pair of "This is Livin'" are beginning to bubble/peel. It first started with a pair of Keen’s where the lens began bubbling/peeling, they were replaced under warranty and the new pair is doing the same. I decided to order a few more models and they're all defective. I’ve owned a pair of original Nocturnal Q’s from a few years ago and they’re still going strong. I’m disappointed with the quality of my Blenders as of recent. Giving 2 stars here because I did like the shades before they started delaminating, but man what a bummer that they are not built to last at all. They did offer me first a discount on a future purchase and then a $25 gift card, but there's no way I'm buying another pair of ~$60 sunglasses that won't last me a year, even with a discount. ![]() I reached back out to customer service, and was told that there's a "max limit per warranty" so they couldn't send me a new pair (as mentioned, the model I had is no longer produced anyway) or issue me any kind of refund. Worth noting, I'm careful with my sunglasses and take good care of them, so two pairs having the same issue is a clear manufacturing defect. Great! Except fast forward 8 months, and the new pair started delaminating too. ![]() I reached out to customer service, sent in a couple of pictures, and since I was within the one-year warranty, they sent me a new pair at no charge. However, within less than a year, the mirrored coating started to delaminate, leaving black spots on the lenses. I have a couple pairs of Costa del Mar sunglasses that are obviously more expensive and better quality, but for everyday/non-technical wear, the Blenders shades were good enough, plus stylish and fun, and they became my favorite pair of shades. I bought a pair of Blenders sunglasses (the "Hot Diggity" model, suspiciously no longer made) in July 2021 and initially loved them. ![]()
